Give Back in North Adams: Stop & Shop Community Bag Program Aims to Eliminate Single-Use Plastics While Donating to Local Non-Profits

Katrina Cardillo • March 1, 2022

Mar. 2, 2022 (North Adams, MA) This year, local community non-profits are more in need of support than in any other time in the recent years’ past. Now shoppers can give back to the local community and help to reduce single-use plastics by purchasing a special reusable bag at Stop & Shop. BFAIR has been selected by local Stop & Shop store leadership as the benefiting non-profit in the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program for the month of March.

The Stop & Shop Community Bag Program is designed to give back to the local community with every reusable bag purchased. Every $2.50 reusable Community Bag sold supports a non-profit local to the store in which it was purchased. This program offers a way for shoppers to give back as part of the regular weekly routine.

Every month, at every Stop & Shop location a different local non-profit is selected to benefit from the sale of these special reusable Community Bags. BFAIR was selected as the March beneficiary by local store leadership at the store located at Stop & Shop located at 876 State Road in North Adams, MA.  BFAIR will receive a $1 donation for every $2.50 reusable Community Bag purchased at this location in March.

“Community engagement and support that we receive from businesses, like through the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program, is essential to our work at BFAIR. Through these partnerships, we can reach more community members and share about the important services we provide for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and acquired brain injury. We are so thankful for our partnership with Stop & Shop and the support they provide to our organization,” said Tara Jacobsen, Fundraising & Grants Manager at BFAIR.
